Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere! I’ve been blogging elsewhere, but now I’m upgrading to WordPress… and I love it! 
As I was looking around for a good place to host this new blog of mine, a few features were especially important:
- the ability to comment without having to set up an account first.
The comment box does require you to enter an email address, and even though I’m the only one who will see it, you’re certainly welcome to enter a bogus address if you prefer. Creativity is encouraged, of course… for example, idonthaveanemailaddress@imwritingthiswithapencil.com.(Updated 1/20/07: I was able to change a setting so that you DON’T have to enter an email address!) - the ability to create static pages, not just blog posts. The classic example is the About page, but the possibilities are endless, especially since I can upload a variety of file types.
- site search! Now you won’t have to click through my archive month by month to find a specific thought, story, or recipe I posted.
I know I’m only utilizing a small fraction of the WordPress capability at this point, so my blog will probably become a little snazzier as I continue to play around, experiment, and learn more.
